Case Study: The Power Project

SCOPE:

The Mar Menor Lagoon in Murcia, Spain, has endured years of accumulation of nutrient inflow due to the intensive activities of the surrounding agriculture and tourism industries. Koom Consulting supported the regional initiative to develop solutions to combat contamination and eutrophication of this endangered ecosystem through technical consulting and the coordination of a biological denitrification pilot project. 

The know-how and best practices of this project led to the development and optimisation of a new biological denitrification technology that is currently being applied to a variety of agricultural and food processing industries as well as other sectors.
